News from RTVNH Amsterdam Regional News Group

Regional Dutch TV station RTVNH broadcast a short documentary about students from the Vlinderbloom Primary School (Butterfly Tree) showing them demonstrate how they learn and practice instrumental skills using their Yamaha instruments and Gigajam’s Online Music School. De Vlinderboom is one of the pilot schools that have been working with award winning UK music company Gigajam, using their Online Music School. The project is part of the Amsterdam Fibre Glass Network Project, BOA, which has provided all Amsterdam schools with a 1GB internet connection.

KPN, the Dutch Teleco, built the network for BOA and work with them as an education partner seeking to provide transformational learning. Ron de Mos, Directeur Zakelijke Markt, used the second annual BOA conference to announce that KPN will make a financial contribution so that all schools in Amsterdam can have online music lessons with Gigajam. They will be accesible free at the point of access at school and at home next year.

More details to follow.
